Drawn into the light of the Ritual, lost Souls hide amongst the ruins of the Asylum. This life-force powers the Ritual, stopping your escape. Locate and guide the Souls to the Peddler–a native of In-Between, and your only ally–in order to weaken the Ritual enough to make your escape. The Peddler will reward your assistance for useful items.

And although you do not recall how you came to receive the Implant grafted onto your hand, you instinctively recall the Second Sight it grants for locating souls.
